ELA Summer 2020

ELA High School Summer ’20

ELA-High School (July 6-17, 2019) is a two-week entrepreneurial academy, led by faculty, successful entrepreneurs and mentors of participating CT Universities. Students attend from various areas in Greater New Haven county, including Bridgeport, Milford and Waterbury. Participants receive breakfast and lunch; attend classes and workshops; and lectures by guest speakers. They are divided into teams to work on original projects chosen by the group, implementing the 9-Step Idea-to-Commercialization© program. On the last day of the program, participants present a business plan and a PowerPoint presentation to a faux panel of investors. The final projects are displayed to family, friends and members of the community during the graduation ceremony.

ELA College Internship Summer ’20

The college internship program is a paid 7-week program beginning from June 10-July 26. The program will include five university students working with one or more startup companies in an incubator environment and other local companies.  The interns are assigned based upon their major or career interest. Interns will participate in all aspects of the 9-Step Idea-to-Commercialization© concept. They participate in a weekly journal club and must present once. Interns will mentor participants of the ELA High School Academy for the two weeks. Upon conclusion of the six weeks, exceptional interns may be awarded an all-expense paid trip to the ELA Hungary Academy for 10 days.

ELA US/International Summer ’20

ELA US/International Academy (July 26 – August 1, 2020) takes place during the final week of July. The program pairs 10 international college students with 20 American students. Over the course of five days, all the students will go through an intensive crash course in entrepreneurship. Each day runs from 8 am to 8 pm filled with workshops and opportunities for the students to apply the knowledge and skills of the program. Along with classes, the students will learn everything it takes to be a successful entrepreneur from instructors with real world experience. They will take an idea from concept to a working model of the product/service leading to a final presentation in front of a panel of faux investors.

ELA Europe/International Summer ’20

ELA Europe/International (August 3 – August 10, 2020, Birmingham, UK) pairs 10 American college students with 20 Hungarian students. Over the course of five days, all the students will go through an intensive crash course in entrepreneurship. Each day runs from 9 am to 5 pm filled with workshops and opportunities for the students to apply the knowledge and skills of the program. Along with classes, the students will learn everything it takes to be a successful entrepreneur from instructors with real world experience. They will take an idea from concept to a working model of the product/service leading to a final presentation in front of a panel of faux investors.

ELA-International MCC

ELA-International-MCC takes place at Mathias Corvinus Collegium(MCC) in Budapest, Hungary. Two college students will be selected to participate in this 10-day entrepreneurship camp where they will see entrepreneurship through a European lens. They will learn from entrepreneurs and business leaders from across the world, discovering the culture of Hungary, and expanding their network to central Europe.
